Cleverlotus Design handmade cards and works on paper are inspired by the world of plants - some that brighten my garden, others that thrive as wildflowers and native species in the woods and meadows of Eastern North America, and still more that nourish the body and imagination in the form of fruit and vegetables.

Adapting a traditional paper cutting technique with scissors and a small blade each image begins as a paper sillouette and finishes as a full colour print on acid free paper. When I am in my studio working on an image, I think about the the paper's fragility and strength, and the balance of positive and empty spaces that give each picture its structure. In this way they a small reminders of finding harmony in nature, friendships and life.
